Transporting Your Pronto Panel System

TAKE CARE WHEN TRANSPORTING YOUR PRONTO GLASS SYSTEM

LIFTING A PRONTO PANEL SYSTEM

It is important to understand the properties of the package when preparing to transport it.

Your pronto panel system could weigh as much as 830 kilograms!

Please ensure:

  • Your vehicle is appropriate to transport the package,
  • You have adequate restraints to tie down the delivery and
  • You understand the weight and balance point of the system before moving it.

Our Pronto Panel System has three timber bearers at the base. When lifting the package, use a forklift or pallet trolley to ensure the weight is dispersed across the bearers.

PLACEMENT OF THE LOAD ON YOUR VEHICLE

If required, the Pronto Panel System can be lifted sideways by placing additional timbers perpendicular to the bearers between the forklift tynes and shipper bearers.

Lifting the system via crane has not been tested. If planning to lift in this method, ensure the load is rigged and test lifted by a competent and authorised person.

Before loading a pronto panel system on to your vehicle check the owners-manual & confirm it has adequate carrying capacity. Your pronto panel system should have information regarding its weight however if it is not clearly visible, allow 55kg per panel in your calculation.

Ensure your load is positioned on your vehicle to maximise weight distribution between the axles. If carrying the Pronto panel system by itself place the load central between the driver and passenger sides and as far forward as is possible.

If carrying the Pronto panel system in conjunction with other goods, make sure that the load is placed so as to balance each other out.

RESTRAINING YOUR LOAD

The packaging which encases your system is quite robust and keeps the centre of balance as low & central as possible however still needs to be anchored down to be transported safely.

Take care when tying the load to limit the amount of compression added to the tray which houses the glass panels.

If choking around the glass, ensure the panels are supported and don’t bend during tightening.

IN TRANSIT

If you are not experienced with moving heavy loads, please take extra care when commencing your trip. Take corners slowly! And allow plenty of breaking a room between yourself and other vehicles for increased stopping distance.

It is sensible at the start of your journey to approach corners with extra care as you learn the effect carrying this load has on your vehicles dynamics and stability.

TAILGATE DELIVERIES

If you have opted to have your load delivered via our tailgate equipped providers, please ensure that there is an adequate area to unload.

  • The area must be flat &
  • There needs to be sufficient room for the truck to park and lower its tailgate.
  • Don’t store the Pronto Panel System on a wet floor for more than a few hours

If you are unsure if your area is appropriate, please call our customer service team to confirm your delivery location is suitable.
